I commute on a Country Road Bob set up 1x9 with stock 38T 110mm BCD chainring, 11-23 SRAM cassette, and SRAM 9 speed chain. I swapped the 38T out for a Dimension 42T, and the chain wants to walk off the ring to the inside. What causes this? It seems like the chain doesn't is not seating properly on the teeth.

What kind of mileage on the chain vs. the ring? There may be a different wear pattern to the chain/cassette vs. the 42T.

Also, is the new ring ramped and pinned? Something ss-specific may help it seat better.

Both new. It's a BMX ring (3/32").

It looks like I have a bad ring. LBS had a 41T, and it appears to work. I'll try it out tomorrow.
