Gonna go the clipless pedal route soon so I've been looking at shoes too. Only thing that puzzles me is those freaking metric sizes. Is there a chart or something somewhere that shows what size I would wear in a bike shoe?? Normally wear a 9 1/2 sneaker. :o

I would check the website for the specific shoe you plan on buying. There's variances in the sizes of different brands.

I wear a US 9 1/2, but wear a 44 Specialized bike shoe.

there can be a difference of, what, .5 to 1 in what fits depending on shoe manufacturer.
There is nothing worse, well maby riding with no seat..., nothing worse that road shoes
that are uncomfortable if they don't fit right. I found out the hard way that it's best to
be able to try 'em on before buying them.

I wear the sme size sneaker and recently bought a pair of SIDI Genius 4 Lorica and got a 43.5. I think they come in wide and narrow width too, but the standard size fit me great. :)

Different shoe companies measure their shoes differently with metric sizes.

OK thanks....good info to know. Been thinking about trying one of the cheap Forte shoe/pedal combos from Performance just to see if I'll like clipless. Anyone tried the Forte stuff, or have any idea how these shoes are sized??
