I'm thinking about converting an old Ross 10-speed I came upon into a fixed gear. This will be my first conversion, and I'm really not looking to spend a ton of money. I ran into a bit of a snafu today when I realized the fork is spaced at 96 mm. I was planning on switching from 27 to 700, and was looking to buy a relatively inexpensive wheelset. Would I be better off getting a new fork?? I'm trying to wrestle with the idea of spending even more money to build the bike up. Has anyone dealt with something like this before?? Any suggestions appreciated....
