Ramen noodle anyone?

Umney - there is, oddly enough, an excellent English pub in that same shopping center, the Duke of Edinburgh. They apparently dismantled the original and shipped it over and rebuilt it here. It's a great place for a beer, although a bit pricey.

there are some decent filipino restaurants in pacifica, right next door to hmb. And there are lots of good japanese restaurants and a couple of good chinese restaurants in san mateo, right over the hill from hmb.

hmb?

Not really in to beer, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.

Santa Ramen on El Camino near Hwy 92 is really good (and really crowded). Real Japanese ramen is nothing like the instant cup-of-noodle stuff.

UmneyDurak, you're right in my hood.

Sushi- Sushi-o-sushi is ok. But Tomi sushi in MV is da bomb. BTW The korean fried chicken place is in the same complex as sushi-o-sushi.
Pho- I like to go down to Little Saigon (if that name is sticking). Everything in the cupertino area is overpriced.
Ramen- MV has a place. I forget the name but its really good and cheap.

What about dimsum? JoyLuck place in the Ranch 99 complex is good but pricey. Further down on Wolfe is Dynasty. That's good too. Both places get way crowded on the weekends.

If anyone knows a good, clean dimsum place in the city that won't cost an arm and a leg like Yank Sing, please let me know. TIA.

How about a Pho cafe, right next to a bike shop? Shop, then Pho.

Man, there used to be one of these at Capital and Silver Creek! Pho Ly and ST Bicycles. But ST Bicycles closed and or moved. I think they moved then became the Trek store further down Capital.

For Pho, you're going to have to head to south San Jose area. My family pretty much only go to Pho Tau Bay off silver creek in the plaza next to Target. Beef Noodle #1 in the same Plaza as the aforementioned Target is very good too but they are the definition of dirty hole in the wall.

I miss good Pho now that I live up here in Davis. Have to get some every time I visit the parents (for those that don't know, I grew up in San Jose).

In the City...don't know of one. I love going to Dynasty in San Jose though. Clean, Big, and very good Dim Sum. Good prices too!

Flourishing Garden on Monterey isn't bad either. Used to go there before Dynasty. Took my parents and grand parents there with my first paycheck from my first job in high school.

my number 1 dim sum spot. http://www.yelp.com/biz/tai-wu-mr-fongs-restaurant-daly-city

and I'm very picky about dim sum.

number 2 is Koi Palace. I won't link since you said that won't cost an arm and a leg.

I know they're not in the city, but it is not far. Koi palace will have dishes you simply can not get anywhere else.

Koi Palace was good for Dim Sum

Ruth and I got substantially full for around $24

Dim Sum is obviously cheaper per person when you bring more people!

Mmm Dim-Sum. Anyone want to do a BF get together in a good Dim-Sum place, or maybe Pho?

I'd say Dim Sum for Father's day but 6/21 also happens to be me and my wife's 12th anniversary.

A slow poke ride that ends at a dim sum is my idea of nirvana. OK, I am easy to please.

I am down for either. If I had to choose, I would go Pho though. Cheaper.

Best Northern style Pho in the city is hands down Turtle Tower. But I don't know how many of you would actually lock up your bike in TL, on Larkin street.

Hmm a bit too north. Anyone would be interested in a long ride, 3-4 hours, on July 5th then some dim sum or Pho?

Haha, nope. We don't have to go to the city anyhow.

The Pho places I mentioned are pretty close to where Hellyer Park is and the beginning of the Coyote Creek MUP which would be a gateway to rides South ie. South SJ and Morgan Hill area. Dynasty is not too far away for Dim Sum either. Or you can do a Track Day at Hellyer then go do Pho.
