OK, i just gave up trying to fit a pair of bontrager road fenders to my 1993 burley duet. there just isn't enough clearance. has anyone tried a set that works?
As an aside, the "hardware" bontrager supplies is absolute junk! two of the bolts twisted and broke like taffy!

We have SKS fenders on our Burley Duet softride. The clearance is fine with 28C tires. However, the rear tends to disintegrate from the vibration. Our rear fender now has two layers of fiberglass cloth and expoxy resin on the inside to give it a little structural integrity.

We also have the SKS fenders on our Duet, and run 700x28 tires. There aren't any clearance issues, and the mounting is secure and quiet.

Rosiewoodboat,
Your bike looks just like mine (minus the pink bar tape). those pics are very helpful. on the rear fender, how did you secure the very front to the chainstay bridge? mine is also complicated by a rear rack. also, my bike runs 27 x 1 1/4" tires.
