Road Cycling - So I've got to do a little big of bragging.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My bike finally came in (felt 45) to the shop today, got built up etc... And I think I ended up with a hell of a deal. First of all they just knocked 250 off the intial price they quoted (1725) so I ended up paying 1475 ... then they upgraded the wheels (IMO it's an upgrade) from the ksyrium equipe's the bike came with, to velomax circuits ... then they gave me a set of speedplay x2's for half off ($55) and another 50$ off the shoe. I'm stoked .... ibpeoplehateonsomething
You do know that it is required to post pictures of any new bikes, don't you? :D

I do now :o .... I'll have to find someone with a digicam first though :D
I believe the wheelset swap was done by Felt. There's a 45 at the LBS here with those wheels...which are nice if you ask me.
I considered that bike but didn't love the ride. I went with a Lemond Zurich.
The rest of the "deal" sounds great. I wonder why they dropped so much $ off the top only to save you more by cutting prices on gear. Seems they want your business forever.
Enjoy!

Indeed, actually what they told me (which I'll take with a grain of salt but could very well be true) was that Felt was offering deals to closeout their '04 stock so that if a retailer purchased 14 felt bikes they'd get a 15th free, and I asked at the right time and they were willing to cut me a deal since they'd get mine (the 15th) for free. And I think you might be right about the wheelset, it's odd, in one of the bike shops the 45's had the equipe's and the 35's had the elites, and in 2 other's they were swapped for velomax, wonder why that's the case. Anyway, i'm done being a nerd for now, time to go ride ^_^
Seriously though. It sounds like a good deal to me. But then I don't know much. :D

It's pure heaven (especially going from an early 90's chro-mo mongoose :o ) I even rode it to work today just because I couldn't wait to get on it again this morning and now I think i'm going to start commuting every day because it felt so great and takes literally 10 minutes more than the drive. The only "problem" I had with the bike can be easily resolved by tweaking the FD when I get home tonight but other than that i'm totally in love :D
