Has anyone here converted either a Wateford or a Gunnar bike to be an ebike? These are good quality bikes that are made of steel alloy frames. I'm thinking it would be nice to convert a good bike, and not just a big box store chinese import (Waterford and Gunnar are not only made of steel alloy, but they are also American made in the state of Wisconsin). With the steel alloy frames, I'm thinking they'll be able to stand up to the rigors of an electric motor.

So to the point, has anyone here ever converted (or heard of a conversion of) either of these 2 name brand bikes to be an e-bike?

Thanks in advance.

Great question! I'm a HUGE fan of starting with a really solid bike as the platform for any electric conversion. Hadn't heard of Waterford, but man-oh-man, those are some BEAUTIFUL bikes! The lugs on the '22' series are just drop-dead gorgeous. I ride an old steel Fuji and while I get all romantic thinking of old-school-cool, these guys appear to be doing a lot more than just copying the past.
