Mountain Biking - Too Heavy??

I have a GF Tassajara 2003 model and a Kona Blast 2004 model. I weigh about 95Kg and am doing a lot of road riding to lose some weight. However I often ride these biked down flights of stairs and through some rough terrain (nothing too big, mind you). Are these bikes up to my weight or will I eventually break them

Stairs and rough terrain will put more stress on ANY frame. The Blast will handle it better but both rigs will work. When you say stairs do you mean riding down or jumping them? if jumping the GF will give out first but you should be good for a few years. I used to ride an all carbon frame and I did a lot more with it then what you described and it lasted 8 years and I weigh in at 132kg.

You will most likely have to replace the parts on the bikes before the frame so I would not worry about the frame although someone will chime in and tell you to get a new frame;)

i have a 2000 tassajara and i weighed like 155lbs (70kg) when i got it and now am 165lbs (75kg). In these last 5 years since i got the bike in 99', i have but so much abuse on it. doing 5ft drop offs and some good freeriding on the large xc frame. It was able to take all the abuse i gave it until the fork finally broke earlier this year. Im not as heavy as you, but im pretty sure the tassajara would be able to stand up to what you give it, its really strong for how light and agile the bike is.

DANTE, i'm totally opposite of you. I think my bike weighs way too much for me. Im only 125lbs and my bike is 38lbs.
