Hello all,

Post #1. I want a bike to ride 95% of the time on the road/pavement of some sort.

Once in a while I'll go on very non challenging dirt paths. I want to sit mostly upright.

I am 6'2" and 200+ pounds, but I am loosing weight, headed toward my goal of 191.

I was shown the 27 speed SPECIALIZED CROSSTRAIL COMP at $850 new and the SPORT

too for hundreds less. I like the idea of 700 sized tires. What makes and models would

you all recommend? My taste, looks wise, the classic Schwinn with Tank, fenders, [the

front having the built in headlight] rack on the back, etc. You get the idea. I'm 49 Y.O.

Depending on how much you want to spend, and what level of components you will be happy with; Trek 7200, 7300 or 7500. Sturdy, serviceable bikes. bk
