Hi All,
I'm basically a casual rider who needs & enjoys the exercise I get from riding.
I purchased a new GT Timberline MTB back in 95 and usually ride along the Chicago lakefront but also take the kiddies for cruises in the local forest preserves. I recently acquired an older Fuji 21sp MTB with apparrent low miles but poor maint and mickey mouse repair attempts (the low end Shimano shifter pods are trashed). I'm thinking about upgrading my GT and moving the entire drivetrain to the Fuji. What about going to an SRAM drivetrain with gripshift, wonder if anyone here can recommend a good budget model so I'll then have two different bike setups to choose from when riding, should I go 24 or 27 spd?
