Hi,
Newbie here and starting to look for a road -hybrid bike/project...Are the 3.0 road and mtb frames the same ?

Looking for a bike to ride around the neighbor hood and take on longer rides. Basically a fast hybrid. If I find a road frame I'll put straight bars on it.

Thanks in advance for any info :thumb:

No, the frames are different. Here are some catalogs from the 3.0 frame's time period:

See the 1990 catalog.

Nope. Put straight bars on the 3.0, use mtb shifter/brake levers, run road group everywhere else.
Add in some road tires, saddle that fits your buttocks, and go like crazy. Flat bar road bikes are fast and fun.
