So, I'm in Redlands, and I'm looking for a longer ride that's not my usual combination of SART, Greenspot, Sunset, Hangar 24.

It seems like people ride San Timoteo Canyon back from or out to Beaumont on some pretty good loops, but that road, if my memory serves, seems a little sketchy, no? Like, lots of blind corners and very small shoulders, with a concerning amount of traffic most mornings.

But it's also super long and should make for a fantastic ride. So, do you ride it? And would you call it safe?

Once you pass Redlands Blvd heading towards Beaumont you should have the road to yourself

I agree with vertical bob. It is also likley best to join or leave San Tim at Allesandro. If you do that you minimize some of the bad spots. There is also lots of new pavement and wider roadway as you near the new housing on the East end of the canyon. Of course that said the Canyon is much worse than it was even 3-5 years ago. Live Oak Canyon should absolutely be avoided!!
