The sell of this bike (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270403640525) (not mine) already completed yesterday on eBay for $400 plus $75 s/h. I was not the high bidder, but was interested for some of the components, which I had planned to swap out and the sell the bike at a loss.

Seems like a really bizarre collection of misfit parts. One chainring is Campy, the other is Suntour? Campy FD, Suntour RD? Seems like he got full value out of that sale. People do love full 531 frames, and the bike appears from this marginal pic to be in really nice condition.

You should be able to pick up similar components for a fraction of this price. Anyone buying this bike would be looking at significant spend to un"Frankenbike" it.

Looks like underneath this mismatch is a Trek 738, which would have some pretty good value. Best if bought by someone with a nice Campy parts bin. So many key parts are not original, that would limit my interest.

I don't know where seller gets off calling it a womens bike. It is a mens 21 inch frame bike. Also, seller had a total of 1 feedback. Someone is taking a chance on this purchase.

That collection's more weird than the mix that's on my Trek that I built out of my parts box.

Maybe they bought a frame back in '79 and did the same?
