I've got semi-hor or semi-vert drops on my converted fixie so tensioners are useless to me. My mtb ss has vert drops but I was able to get a 32:16 gearing with my chainstay length and a half-link. Now if I were to go with fork ends...

How about, it looks like a great idea but I haven't ever used them on a bike. They work great on motorcycles! There have been times I wished I had them on my fixed. Sometimes I have to try several times to get the wheel centered and the chain tight enough. I like the looks of the Paul track ends with the built in adjusters.

My singulator (sp? the surly one) works great on my SS. I like anything that allows you to use what you have laying around.

I got some of those tiny little MKS tensioners that are NJS approved. they are totally awsome, tiny, light, and strong. Too bad there is not enough room left in my track ends to fit them. I tried removing a link from the chain and my back wheel hits the seatpost. What the hell is the point of fork ends if you can only use half of their length? oh well, at least I've got some kickass tensioners for my next bike.

Wait a second......are we talking about chain tensioners for single speed conversions with vert dropouts or chain tugs which hold your wheel in place? I'm confused (which is quite normal)

Yah, both of these things are called chain tensioners because the both maintain chain tension. Which one are you talking about?

I was referring to chain "tugs"...
i always liked them on my bmx, but my fixie's got regular road dropouts, so i doubt that i could find a system that would work.
