Right now, I don't have cable, but my wife and I agree that something needs to be done prior to the start of the Tour de France.

Rather than shell out an extortionist fee for 100 channels, when all I really want to come indoors for this summer is the Tour, does anyone know if there's such a thing as a webcast subscription service for the Tour? Ideally, since the races run in the morning in North America, I'd love to pay for a service where I could watch the feeds either live or later in the day. (Or course, I'd pay premium for Phil and Paul :) :))

Again, I am willing to pay money for this, and I certainly will take a month of cable if I have to. My searches so far have come up empty, but I figure if anyone knows about such a service, it would be someone here.

Thanks.

I actually moved from cable to satellite service to be able to get Versus a few years ago. My bill is less than than cable, but there are some sites out there. I think cyclingfan.com is one.

I think your best shot is get cable installed for a month. I think Versus has the U.S. rights sewn up. Just make sure you can get a free cable install and no minimum service commitment.

Hey, you might even want to keep it! Versus and Universal Sports both have a fair amount of cycling content.

I pay monthly for cable not for the 200 channels I don't watch, but the 3 or 4 that I do.

Yeah, you can get all sorts of good deals on cable for a startup. You'll be able to get it for a month very cheaply and possibly for free. I get Versus on my cable so it isn't an issue - but a few years ago I stepped up to digital just because they carried TVE for the Vuelta. I cost me something like $13. Money well spent. (The look on the Spanish Cable specialist when she started telling me in Spanish about the Spanish package and I told her I didn't speak Spanish was priceless) Unfortunately comcast dropped that package from "Cable Latino".
