Really, it's all about Zertz.

Zertz, of course, is the new miracle elasto polymer made with meteorite dust and the molecular essence of hybrid rubber plants grown in secret silos miles beneath the surface of the Earth.

While Zertz has shown potential for curing both Attention Deficit Disorder and warts, it also has applications in underwater welding and bowling ball construction. But where it really shines is in vibration absorption on really pretty bicycles (RPB.) It apparently can work it's magic on any bike, but does best on women specific red and white varieties.

Naturally, being of such high scientific and artistic sensitivity, this appealed to MyLilPony. Or maybe it was that she had a Ruby Red Giro Helmet and matching Sedi shoes already. It gets a bit fuzzy here for me. Anyway, she saved up her allowance from the local middle school, did some extra chores there, and the next thing I knew I was standing there saying stuff like "Of course you should buy yourself a new bike. With Zertz. It's not just on the frame you know, it's in the seat post too. You'd be crazy, double crazy, to not get it." and "White bar tape! White seat! What could be more practical than that!"

She often listens to my experienced wisdom when it comes to important matters like this, and she did this time too.

So, here we are, announcing the latest addition to the MyLilPony stable: Ruby.

I've been annoying MyLilPony by singing Ruby songs all day (Ruby, don't take your bike to town, Ruby Ruby, Ruby baby, etc...) And pointing out I don't have love handles, I have.... Zertz inserts.

There are those matching shoes. Mike's Bikes did a nice job.

The levers fit her hands better. I think those are spacer inserts (but not Zertz spacer inserts I'm sorry to say) whatever they are, she like's 'em. I think she'd like the levers even without the matching gloves.

Bonus Zertz fact:
In 1866 a ship-wrecked crew bringing bikes to Borneo by way of Bengal was able to live for three weeks on the sugar and protein trapped in Zertz.

Bonus photo, no extra charge.

You mean getting the Ultegra SL components in Ice Grey to match my hair is going overboard??

Stunning! Great color scheme, fantastic matchup between bike, shoes, outfit, and helmet... and rider.
Very zertzy.

OCP Points: 9.5 out of 10. Looses 0.5 point for the dork disk.

Hey, didn't Curtis attend a bike mechanic clinic recently? Time to get to work!

You don't need a mechanic clinic to take tin snips to a "dork" disk. :P

I don't get why bikes with good components come with them. My roubaix with SRAM Red rear derailleur and front shifter came with one... How bad can the indexing get?

I'm deciding between keeping these wheels or trading out for my Williams system 19 wheels. Dork disc removal will occur, one way or the other, before tomorrow's ride!

If you decide you don't like the elastomer, Specialized has a program where you can get them removed - unfortunatley you have to go back for de-zertz. (sorry)

As another Roubaix rider, I'm a fan - the Ruby looks fantastic. Pairing that frame and groupset with Williams 19's sounds like a phenomenal ride. I've been starting to think about a new wheelset and 19's keep coming up on my list - how are you liking them?

Well, it seems to be a no brainer. Ultegra wheels are advertised to be about 200 grams heavier than the Williams 19.

No.

Coloring your hair to match your Ultegra SL components might be a bit much, though. :roflmao2:

Sounds like you guys were drinking the Specialized Kool-Aid.

Which of course has Zerts concentrate as the 1st ingredient. ;)
