Mountain Biking - You're all a bunch of gear-hating, suspension-hating, retro-crap-hugging jerks!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Pure lameness? You started this...
btw how's your healing up coming along?
Thanks for asking. As far as my bones, I'm 100% healed. I don't feel like I'm back 100% in my upper body strength yet - - the shoulder reminds me a little when I've worked it hard. But it gets its first test tonight on the downhill bike (don't think I'll boost all the big doubles yet, tho').
I've been on a few of our bike shop's Wed. night trail rides and it's felt real good to get out. First race back will be 27th & 28th at Mt. Hood, OR; and I'm registered for Crankworx, so I've gotta get working on getting back into the flow.

My bike hasn't touched dirt in 4... almost 5 months....
I havn't had time to go to the trails..
in fact..
I don't even know where there are..
some of the trails are hiker or horse only... or private land..

Dminor,
Love the avatar.. I have that album still to this day, Minor Threat rules... ;) How about some MDC...
^^ It was a nickname I acquired before I knew MT was a band (joke was on me :D). But they ARE (were?) cool. Black sheep struck me as particularly appropriate for me.

Guilty as charged. It even has friction shifting and a 6 sp freewheel.

but no suspension!! :thumb: :p
^^ . . . and felt compelled to clutter the thread with a pic no less. Wow.
I think if mountain bikes had stayed like that and not progressed, I'd have stayed with dirt bikes :p.

I am trying to become a grouch with my MTB. I dont need my barely functional RST gila POS, nor many of my gear combos, nor disc brakes. If it was just that I dont need it I would just stay modern, but it also adds a good 7-10 lbs

I don't typically read threads with such long titles.

I didn't read through all the posts but I can summarize my thoughts in two sentences:
We don't hate gears or suspesion and we don't love crap in any form. We just hate you!
Well said. Be more direct and less obtuse next time, though, please.
