Hi, i'm new to this forum so if i've broken any rule posting this let me know and i'll remove it. My question is i'm building a fixed gear with a black and red theme. I purchased some red dp-18 rims but i realized they came with silver spokes and a silver hub. I was thinking of getting some black spokes and a red hub, but i dont know where i can find some red hubs. I found a pair of novatec flip flop hubs on ebay for about 76 bucks without shipping, but i dunno if they're any good. Is there any site where i can buy a pair of red hubs for less than 100 bucks?

i have black novatec hubs on my Kilo, as long as you install the cog/lockring properly they'll suit your needs fine.
here's some for $100 shipped.

I personally think you're going too far with the red and black theme. It might turn out looking very ricey like your automobile. Just put it together and ride it!

Heh, I have the same thing going on.
I know Milwaukee/Ben's Cycle makes great red anodized hubs. Your spoke count would be different, and it's not exactly an easy process to swap your hubs and is either best done if you have built wheels before or by your shop.
Another thing to look for are colored brass nipples for your wheels. I alternated with black and silver which was fun.

I'm an idiot. I misread dp-18 to mean 18 spoke count. You should be fine.

basically any of these are just going to be dimension/formula with a label slapped on them. these are dimension and have teardrop cutouts, the formulas have campy style cutouts.

So apparently Ben's and All City's are rebrands? Who are they rebranded from?

Those look just like Novatec hubs. It would make sense, since QBP is behind both of them.
Kazane has some:

And Miche too:

novatec are the same thing as dimension. QBP deals dimension parts ranging from hubs to stems and bars.
the kazane are dimensions as well, where the miche look the same as the IRO which may be formula or novatec, i don't know how to differentiate the ones without cutouts.
basically, these are all made in the same factories.
they're all good hubs. choose whatever ones you like based on looks and price.
also i'm pretty sure i've seen red phils.

yup.
the quality of the phil is noticeable from the second you pick it up. the dimension/formula are great hubs but they're not what i'd call precision works of engineering. they have some very nice sealed bearings that aren't shabby, but they're basically a good value. where as phils are just freaking gorgeous.

Miche hubs are actually different and are made in Italy. They do have some similarities, but they are not the same. Miche hub flanges are flat and don't have the cutaway bit that some Suzue, Dia Compe and other hubs have.
