Jean-Pascal Roux just established a new 24h world record in riding 839km (524.37 miles). The old record of 835km was held by Jure Robic the five times RAAM champion.

Roux climbed the Mt. Ventoux 11 times in a row three years ago, also a record.

No, outdoor. It was done yesterday in the South of France. He started Monday at 9am and finished at 9am this morning.
The cuircuit was relatively flat, about 10.5 miles long, open to traffic. Weather included wind, a little bit of rain, and heat (up to 97F). So hot that the rain, instead of providing some cool, actually made the condition worse in releasing the heat from the pavement and making the air hot and moist.
Two hours after the completion the guy couldn't walk yet and was still dreaming about being painless.
