I have the mandolin, now I just need a guitarist, a fiddler, a banjo player, and maybe a bass player and then we can start the band.

Best Britney Spears song ever.

I've got an extra acoustic to send your way. I'll play the fiddle and can totally bust out some BS on it.

Bummer, guitar and mandolin are already taken, how about a tenor recorder then? I could do bass but I have rhythm so it won't work.

Nice Beard. I seriously lust for one of those. But for now my McKenna and Gibson JD Model will have to do.

do you have a case/gig bag to carry that on the bike?

Looks like it was nice day at the beach:thumb:

I would love to join, but I know you bluegrass types don't hang with drummers. :p

I'll probably be exhibiting at IBMA (http://ibma.org/events.programs/wob/index.asp) again this year.

Thanks!...it's their 3/4 size travel guitar. Aside from being inexpensive (compared to my Gibson) and portable, you can use heavy strings and tune it standard, or use light strings and tune it up a fifth.

The gig bag does have two backpack-type straps so I conceivably could carry it on the bike pretty easily.

Spent that weekend with friends at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. The CX bike was great to have there because there are about 6 miles of dirt/sand/pine needle trails through the park plus some decent road riding if you got up early enough to beat the beach traffic. I did morning rides of 2.5, 3.5 and 2 hours and was back at the cabin drinking coffee before some of my friends were even awake.

That's not actually mine. I have a Beard kit that I built a couple of years ago. I like it a lot though. I hear the Mckenna is great too. I have never played one but I hope to get to some day.

While learning a new song to add to my list I came across thies gem "The Frozen Girl" and when I was singing it at school for my voice class I looked up and saw a couple of the students were crying. It is a great song and is my new favorite.

Sure would be fun to get together and play some roots music. Hmmmm...
