Yesterday afternoon/evening I was riding home, I had to go to the bathroom something awful, the only problem was I was about 10 miles from home and seeing how it was around 5pm, the businesses near by were closed for the day, what should I have done? Keep riding and try and find a place to go? I finally went for a leak in a back lane, I didn't want to in case someone came by, but at that point, I didn't care anymore. How do you guys/ gals handle this situation? :o

Well where I ride its pretty urban so I don't have much to worry about. However in your situation, I don't think I'd have done much differently. When a man's gotta go, a mans gotta go!
I am lucky enough to go through a few parks with lots of trees.
The bulk of my commute is rural. So I just find the nearest tree or bush.
Just go in your shorts. If it's a hot enough day, your sweat will displace it all pretty quickly.

should i do this when i'm mowing too? have you done this?
I've never had enough nerve but I read about pro triathletes doing this on the bike split.

I just find either a tree or a drain or such.
I was not on a bike, but I have done the same - in Sydney. I was not proud, I tell you... but I had no options. I accidentally got off my bus several stops before my accommodation in a residential suburb. I did not know the neighbourhood and after walking several blocks I had waited all I could. I just had to go. I barely had time to take down my pants.
Afterwards I found a pub a couple of blocks further, right next to my accommodation. There is no way I could have made it all the way there, even if I had known where it was.

Mowing? What's that? ;)
You have to do what you have to do. Just be aware of who or what is around you.
I've had this same problem on my daily ride. I just find a tree, signpost, or anything to hide behind or "blend in" with. If it's a shady spot I try to be part of the shadow. Sometimes I'm out in the open but can see in all directions for quite a ways so if anyone approaches I quickly act as if I'm stopping to rest and having a drink.
peeing is no big deal. its what to do if you need to take a number 2.

If I peed in my bike pants, I'd feel like I was wearing a wet diaper.
I look for trees with no poisen ivy around.

I think if I was at the stage of peeing my pants as a last option, I'd just go right at the roadside if it came down to it. You'd get dog's abuse, but I think you'd need to be pretty far from civilisation to voluntarily cart around a bladder's worth of urine in your trousers. And how hot would it need to be to dry within an acceptable time?
I know that when Jackie Chan was in training as a boy in China, anyone who needed to go to the toilet was shouted at for being lazy; they maintained that if you needed to pee, you weren't sweating enough!
But I think most of us would collapse if we had to work that hard.

As long as it is clear and copious when you finally DO go, everything is OK.
