Just bought this bike and trying to figure out what model it is. I've done research online and found the list of Peugeot serial numbers, but i am unable to locate the the serial # on the actual frame. Everything looks original except for the pedals seat and maybe the crank. I've began to disassemble the entire bike down to every bolt nut and spacer looking for some identification but all I can find are the numbers " 0 8 " on the bottom of the frame. I was hoping someone could identify it if I list the identifiable parts and describe it. I will be posting pics later tonight.

Frame: L Blue says Le Mans on the top tube with fading color decal of white to yellow to orange to red. on top and downtube with Lion on downtube and steerer tube. sticker on cross tube just above shifters says INFINITY CR-MO tapered double butted tubing TANGE.

Hubs: SE Sansin with # 5345 saying JAPAN then DE

Handlebars: Say WIN Kuski on left and WINIPISTA Japan on the right, both surrounded by wreaths of leave etched in the metal.

Stem: KL80 Kalloy

Rear and front derailer and shifters : Suntour 7

Brakes: Cant figure out but the both have 500A serial number on them.

Any ideas what yr and model this bike it? I'm thinking something early 90's or 80's

Don't worry about the bike serial number, just look up the component date codes, the vintage trek site has all the details and info.

Many components have date codes: seat post, stem, handlebars, brake calipers, crank arms, hubs, freewheel, derailleurs, etc. DiaCompe brakes are often open dated.

The late 80s to early 90s Peugeots are the "dark" years. Hard to get info on them. But miamijim can probably ID it if you post some quality pictures.

Added Comment: Your Sansin date code (DE) = May 1987. So the bike could be either a 1987 or 1988 (some manufacturers stockpile parts a bit). Infinity tubing is pretty nice. So you likely have a good bike!

Those brakes will have open dates on the back side of the calipers.

Thanks, looks like an 87 or 88 model according to the derailers and hubs. Not sure what model the frame is though....
