Wonder if they'll show up for the Mountain Challenge on Saturday.

Also I heard Floyd Landis is racing the Benicia crit on the 27th.

I just got more confirmation on the Nevada City CLassic. Those three will be going there. Got that from one of the Livestrong Challenge emails.


Lance announced late yesterday that he, Levi Leipheimer & Chris Horner
would be heading to Nevada City, CA (near Grass Valley, Sacramento
area) for Sunday's 49th Annual "Nevada City Classic" bicycle race.
WHAT?

Yes, for those of you who thought that maybe the Amgen Tour of CA was
the only chance you'd get to see Lance & Co race, well, here you go!

Here's the scoop on the event:

49th Annual Nevada City Classic Bicycle Race
June 21, 2009 from 1:00 - 6:30pm

"The Nevada City Classic is one of the premiere sporting events in the
Sierra foothills, the largest and oldest bike race on the West Coast,
and the second-oldest race in the nation. Historic Nevada City is
draped with flags and bunting and provides a colorful backdrop as
cyclists whiz through the downtown area, spokes flashing and crowds
cheering. Several thousand spectators attend the traditional Father’s
Day event. Senior and professional riders representing top U.S.
cycling teams are expected to race in the men's 40-lap main event.
Women’s, Junior’s and Master’s races also are planned. Action begins
in downtown Nevada City June 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. and is usually
complete by about 6:30 p.m."

My parents heard the news and have booked a hotel room right on the course just so they can watch these guys make me look slow.

Never been to nevada City before. Been close (Lake of the Pines, or along 80), but it might be a good time to go ;)

I heard this announced on the radio, so it must be true!! I hope. Maybe I'll get off my tooshy and sneak up there, but I imagine traffic will be a pain. Maybe I'll just go for a nice long FD ride!!!

I can't imagine how crowded Nevada City is going to be. What a boom for the city.
In all honesty, I'm having serious doubts about going up and battle all the projected traffic.
Dang. I love going up and watching this race.
