I'll be there, and I know that FormerBMX'er (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=44949) is there, too. Anybody else?

Weather forecast looks good for this kind of ride: overcast, mild, chance of rain. It's the same weather we had for Mountains Of Misery this year, and it made the ride a lot easier.

We've had nothing but rain all spring down here, so riding in the rain is just another day in the office. But I'd prefer it to be on the less lightning-enhanced, if possible.

You are correct my friend, I'll be there. I'm rolling at 6AM with the 17 mph group, but I'll likely average around 19. A few guys I know are shooting for 21+, I'm not looking to ride that hard though :twitchy:.

I'll be wearing a Williams Cycling kit, not the B2B jersey.

2009 B2B in the bag, average?...19.8mph...right about where I planned. No rain to speak of in a day forecasted for late showers.

19.7 average here. Left with the 7:35 group - I was barely awake at 0600 hrs!

Great day for the ride, wasn't it?

From a weather standpoint things were great, it never got to hot or too cold at any given point. Last year was an oven, though I tend to handle heat fairly well.

Our group on the other hand was a bit sketchy, even after the first stop. A few guys were following wheels way too closely, marking every move of the rider ahead.

Once the hills came we were able to thin the heard down to a select group. From that point things ran very smooth indeed.

One guy was cramping badly, so I handed him my last Enduralyte Capsule; however no flats, no mechanicals and no crashes. A good Day!

I'm totally familiar with oven-like rides - that's the mid-Atlantic, in a nutshell, especially after mid-June. so yesterday seemed downright dreamlike.

Hearing that the early group was a bit sketchy makes me feel better about starting later: the faster riders tend to be more accustomed to pacelines and following wheels in a predictable manner. And the thinning happened in the hills with us, as well: I like to climb, and dropped folks once the road headed uphill. A group of 23 soon became a group of 7 once the road turned more decidedly uphill.

If not for the folks I was riding with, I wouldn't have spent quite a long at the stops: I tend to be a "gas and go" rider, to keep the legs from cooling down. No problems with cramp at all for me, but that's how I usually am on longer rides. I guess I'm good at keeping the nutritional needs in check.

We had to call the ride HQ at mile 56 for a fellow rider whose Cosmic Carbone wheel (from the Mavic demo fleet) lost its valve extender seal and went flat. We left him, and not long after we'd moved along we saw the Mavic motorcycle heading to his aid - very cool. Otherwise, our group was free of mechanicals or flats - loved that.

Yeah, we were in and out of all the stops in no time flat; not much more than 10min. Last year I cramped between miles 115 & 120, probably because I was drinking that crap Cytomax. An unscheduled stop, a quick stretch and some fluids and I was good to the end.

This year I've been using HEED with Vitargo S2 and Enduralytes. I haven't cramped since I made the switch, so I'm sticking with this mix of products. The Enduralyte I handed to the other rider fixed him up enough finish the ride; I encouraged him to place an order. Oh well, congrats on a successful ride!!!
