Unless you need it to be portable I would go with number one.

I have the PCS-9 that is your third option and like it a lot. Generally I do all the work in the garage but when I want to clean a bike it's nice to be able to drag it to the driveway.

For only 15 bucks more you can put it wherever you want. Get the 3rd one.

Have you looked in the Ultimate line? I like the stuff they have.

If those are the 3 choices, I would go with #1 as well. Ultimate would be the best, but a bit above your price range. Choice #3 wouldn't be too bad either.

the topeak or ultimate are nice you can find some deals on the topeaks on amazon occasionally. I'd just up the budget to 150

edit nvrmind topeaks are 200 unless you want to take the front wheel off which is lame

My PCS-9 is sitting in the corner of the basement not being used any more. I found it to be unstable. I thought about filling the legs with sand to a dd weight but didnt get around to trying it.

Currently using a PRS 5 which I dont think they make any more. It's like a PCS 4 only heavier built.

I'm thinking number 1. As noted can become free standing with a little work and an old steel car rim as a base.

If Jesus was indeed a carpenter than #1 and build thee a workstation.

If Jesus was not a carpenter than #3 and placeth it on rock .

Only Jesus plus the 12 apostles could figure out where to put the bike in #2. It looks like a poorly designed trebuchet. Banana Cannon:thumb:

I would recommend the park pcs-10. It's the (slightly improved) body of #3 with the clamp of #1, I got it for about $140 and it works really well. It's stable and the qr clamp to hold the bike is super easy to use (doesn't require a third hand).

But of your options, I would choose #1 because you have the option of building your own stand, although you should consider the price of materials and your time, and weigh that against the extra cost for the portability/ease of use of the pcs-10.

I do not work for Park or anything, I'm just pleased with my bike stand. I was originally tempted to go a similar route as you, building my own, but what I have works very well.

Well...I hear ya, Kablooie...but materials I got. (my in-laws live on a farm with scrap pipe and sheet metal all over) And time, I got. Just takes 2 welds...pipe to base and pipe to square plate of steel with 4 holes in it.


Fer now though...I'd be mounting it to my workbench.

What in the Holy Father's name happened to the proper clamps on the Park stands?
All 3 choices look decidedly weak.

My price range dictates the clamp style.
