I like to ride with 2 bff a couple times a week. They hae normal roadbikes, as do I. When I take my Cannondale out, everthing is copasetic, however, when I take my SpeedMachine, there are issues.

First, is the issue of drafting. I can catch a great draft off them on the bent, but they can't get one off me. That creates a situation where neither wants to be the one that follows me. Next, is converstation. I have trouble hearing them down low like that.

I have been taking the roadbike for my rides lately, but I really love my bent and would take it if anyone can suggest some remedies for these issues....

'Bents and uprights just don't mix well. 'Bents are slower climbing, and uprights are slower everywhere else. Plus, there's that drafting issue. You could get a second 'bent. A taller bent like a V-Rex will give a draft, especially if you put a fairing on it. Or if local laws allow it, just ride side-by-side. OR, if you're just riding with one bff, then you've got a loaner. I don't see the talking thing as an issue, since their heads are already pointing down and yours is probably angled up.
