Just got back from a ride out to Hinze Dam, where the temperature was 8 degrees C. I would just like to say, that is a seriously awesome temperature for riding! Cool enough to allow you to feel really alive, yet not cold enough to be at all uncomfortable. When I become sole world dictator, I might just pass a law mandating those temperatures at all times. Ra!

yeah, 8 to 12 C, jersey, arm warmers, and fleece vest, is awesome. 12 to 18 C, long sleeved jersey, maybe vest, is awesome too. after all the spring riding i started to like the cooler weather...

Coming up on summer here. Highs heading towards 90F. I like it.

Belive me, when you get summers that last for six months with temperatures of 90F+ both day and night, you'll welcome any relief you can get!

You might have to try out the Pacific Northwest sometime. The sun may hang out in the wrong direction at noon, but you won't be complaining about 2 year droughts. Of course, it's getting rather crowded around here. :D

Yeah, I never thought I'd be complaining about a three-year drought in sub-tropical South Queensland either, but it happened. Still, it's over now, so I'm happy again. Mind you, it's getting a little more crowded than I'd like around here, too.

Last few mornings it has been 45F here, and rainy and foggy and damp - most unusual for June.

Love riding in slight rain/mist at 45F.

This am went out at 5:30 am for 1.5 hours, truly beautiful, also the delight of a 10 mph headwind coming back in the fog. Cool!

Nope, I saw it right. I knew it was 8 degrees C, but even that is cold. We don't ever get such temperatures in Singapore, lowest is never below 20 degrees C, so... 8 is real cold.

Clocked 6 C on Urliup road tonight. I felt that one a bit -- mainly because I left my leg-warmers at home (hey, it was 15C on the coast when I set off). Still had a stunningly beautiful ride though. The rainforest takes on a whole new dimension when it's dark, and the way that dirt road winds around the hills, absolute bliss!

:O...8degrees is cold. People wearing long sleeve shirts at 13 to 18...:O...maybe we really are different up here. 18 degrees is warm. Shorts and t's...13 even. 8 degrees and I wear jeans and a t....I find it funny how we all handle different temps differently.

It was 100 F yesterday, and 68 F today. That's 38 and 20 C.

That's pretty cold for Queensland Chris! It was -6 deg C here in Canberra the other morning. Didn't seem to deter to many people though, I counted half a dozen different cyclists/joggers/dog walkers just on or near the bike paths in my suburb alone at about 7.15am during my ride to work.

I think humidity makes a huge diference to feeling cold. In the dry, 8 is pleasant but in damp windy conditions it can drain your heat away if you are not prepared.
