After navigating through that messy site to get to the supposed extract, I have no idea if this is for real or if it's a parody.
The supposed extract could easily be describing Gatorade.

Pretty sure it's a joke. They even have a picture of a garbage truck to describe the vehicle that took away their "waste."
Forget the site and its bad design...if the claims made by the FIRED woman on that site are accurate she's an idiot. It's a shame that this (doping allegations) will again be pursued aka Salem, MA. (think witchhunt)
Regardless, the quotes about getting "energy" (hey, doesn't food = calories? and calories = energy?) and "white powder can't be a good thing" make me laugh. Maybe it was "iocane powder" and he was trying to build a tolerance so he could defeat a Sicilian man in order to win back Princess Buttercup.
I'm confident, having NEVER met LA, that he will be vindicated in time. Remember, this happens every year and each time things work out as they should...negative drug tests, etc.
It's sad to me as a journalist that books can be published with limited sourcing, unproven allegations, and wild speculation. In the newspaper business a story as "thin" as this would NOT get published.
However, before you all start the "well, AFP (and velonews, et al) carried the story about the book" there is a difference between reporting a story and making unfounded accusations.
Is the release of the book news? Yes.
Should the AP, AFP, Reuters, Velonews, etc report on it? Yes.
Are their stories attributed properly? Yes.
Tour coming up...stay tuned!

erm, I think the whole site is supposed to be a bit of fun and as such, pours scorn on the book which is a good thing. If anyones still in any doubt, the letters page should make things crystal clear.....

According to those who have seen the book, and, according to the AP story, even the author admitted there are no facts, just innuendo and supposition.
These charges against Lance have been swirling around for quite a few years and, up to now, he has just ingnored them. I think he is fed up and his lawyers have already filed suit in Britain and France and are filing suit to stop publication in the U.S.

never go in against a Sicilian, when *death* is on the line!
Hey what's that over there? <switch>
Yes, that Siciian man! Thanks for getting me, sometimes I have to explain my vast knowledge of stupid movie quotes and it's frustrating.

""No matter where the team was based, about once a week a truck would appear, often early in the morning. Around four or five men would disembark and proceed to empty the contents of the dustbins and take it away. The truck had a special lifting device fitted at the back. This happened countless times and I remember thinking that it seemed like the team had some sort of arrangement with these guys. In fact, so eager were the team to ensure that all riders waste would be quickly disposed of that they arranged similar crews to visit our homes and do the same thing. Even to this day, without fail, a truck will come to my house and dispose of my waste. Judging by the amount of stops the truck makes in my street, most of my neigbours must also be or have been pro-cyclist's "

I hoped it was real. That would mean the accusations in the book had to be a joke too. No such luck. Lance has to clear his name again. I hope he can.
Incidentally, UNSCOM has been proved right in just about everything it said.
Has anyone heard anymore about this? I just read that Danilo di
Luca may not be allowed in the tour. He retaliated by saying that if he was being banned than Miller and Lance should be as well, because of the book LA Confidential.
