Can anyone guess the shell diameter for an early Rockhopper? The BB is shot and I'll have to take it to a shop to have it removed. I have a 68mm square taper I could install myself for a replacement, assuming it would fit.

Anyone? Thanks.

You can measure it with almost any measuring device as the sizes are either going to be 68 or 73. If you really just want to take a shot at it, you can always do 73 and get a spacer. Probably not the best, but will work.

Sounds like you want bb shell width. While the shell width is likely 68 or 73mm (just measure it with a ruler), the diameter is 1.37" and it's English threaded almost certainly...
