I'm wondering if people can weigh in on good tires for use with different conditions. I come from a roadie background so different tread patterns being good for different surface conditions is kind of new to me. Thanks for you opinions. Is there a definite tire favorite amongst racers out there? My Bianchi Axis that has not arrived yet comes with Kenda Kwick tires but I'm curious if they will be good for the types of trails around here in Reno/area. I have some Michelin Wildgripper tires on my Rivendell Allrounder. They work pretty well but not great.

Consider the Ritcheys trail mix tire. It is an all terrain tire that I use.

i raced on the maxxis mimo larsens last year. good tire, nice knob pattern. quite sticky and good in the wet, but a bit slow on dry hardpack. they also wear quickly. i think i'll try the michelin muds again this year... but maybe not.. the larsens were good. better than i expected.

the bontrager jones cx tires are junk, imo.
