Hello....I am looking at some differant aerobars for my specialized allez triple. One that I am really interested in is this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3683669851&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Has anyone ever mounted one of these? Is it hard to hook up the shifter (I have shimano indexed)...could I do it myself......thanks all.

I have the C2s on my Jamis Eclipse and they are very nice. Looking at the picture those do not appear to be C2s. Looking at another website, those appear to be Syntace Streamliners. Not as light or groovy-looking as the C2, but they are probably nice. Perhaps they are a couple of years old and the design has changed. Who knows?

Things I'd do:
1) Just clip 'em on. Use your existing cockpit of drop-bar, STI shifters and brakes. These will mount directly to your bar and you probably do not want the added time and expense of mucking with the shifters for the 15% of the time you will be in the aero position.
2) Buy some handlebar tape and put some on the ends where your hands will be. You can use the bar plugs that come with most tape to plug the ends of the bars. I've found that aero bars can get a bit slippery with sweaty hands.
3) It dosen't say anything about the bars in the auction. Keep your drops. you will probably like to have the 3rd hand placement option.
4) Email the seller about the size of the bars. Syntace bars come in sizes (S,M,L) and you would be well-served to determine if they are right for you.
4) What parts you do not use you can always re-sell on ebay.

I have aerobars on both of my roadies and I love them for the little time I spend in them.
