So I'm 15 - live at home - have a job at a bike shop - guess where my paycheck goes? :D

Now I kinda am looking at new forks for the hell of it, I currently have a manitou splice comp 80 mm

It's fine, I like it, but suppose I decide to upgrade

$400-$800 price limit at retail - I'd be getting cheaper

Possible brands: Rockshox, Manitou, and Marzocchi. Thanks for your time :)

Also don't wanna throw off the geometry too much; bike was a rigid, now running an 80mm fork. I don't know if more would throw it off too much.

You going to stick with this frame for a while? Is it worthy of a relatively expensive fork that might or might not be so useful on your next bike? That'd be a consideration for me at least.

What frame is this going on? Do you know what it was spec'd for for axle-crown height? What models from these brands are you thinking of? You want coil? Air? Any particular features? What kind of riding do you do? You work at a bike shop, after all...

Friend of mine broke his fork with a little bike accident (roof rack exit on the freeway), wanted to keep it at 80 but went used, got what appears to be a nice Marzocchi Z3 (00 or 01, not sure) coil for cheap ($80), I'll help him install it tomorrow and get a good look then to see how good of shape it's in. I have a few older frames that use 65-80mm forks ideally. I use a 100mm on one of them without too much issue handling wise.

no fox prodeal? sound like u have to get it from qbp huh, the rock shox sid is super light, and if you want and 80mm i imagine weight is one of the top concerns, or the marz corsa, prolly avoid manitou

QBP doesn't stock fox, as you seem to be aware of. Otherwise I would do that. Weight isn't that much of a concern, the 80mm is because of my frame geometry. If I could have any fork in the world, it would be a DT swiss :)
