"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - My PT needs a home

Looking to get a new PowerTap hub built into a wheel set and am not really sure which way to go. Originally I was hoping to get the Williams systems 30's but Keith (understandably) only builds his own PT's into his wheels. The system 30 seem to hit all the right spots for me: relatively light, relatively aero, and affordable.

Looking to do a little bit of everything with these wheels (hillclimbs, tt's, centurys, rr's, etc..). They will be used for training and racing.

Any suggestions?

Although I haven't done this yet I am going to hit up psimet to see what he can do. Those H plus Son rims on his website are intriguing but I can't find a lot on them.

I don't want to speak for Psimet myself, but I just had him build me up a powertap wheel that I have been riding about two weeks now, and if he would build your Ptap in some wheels, I think that is a great option. I have about 400 miles on the wheels he built and they are awesome.

Based on n=2 with the H plus son SL-42's. They build very nicely and have been bombproof for the first thousand miles under my wide load. The rim weight can vary a bit more than I'd really like, but that is life.

Psimet built my PT wheel for me and it has been perfect so far. He builds a very nice wheel and was very easy to get in contact with to hammer out build decisions. Once the wheel was done it was well packaged and shipped promptly.

If you search I had a thread or two about them. The rear with cx-rays,brass nipples and an SL hub went 1200 flat and the front with 24 cx-rays, brass nipples and the DT240s hub came in at 800 flat so they are not exactly light.

The brake track is anodized after machining so it is not beautiful once you ride them since the pads remove the anodizing and don't do a perfect job.

hoping for ~660g

1780g for a full powertap setup isnt too bad. I was considering going way lighter (150+ grams lighter) by using Velocity Aeroheads and a 24/28 set up but not worth it for an all day everday wheelset for me.

shameless plug: I've met Psimet in person and he's a really nice guy. If I had more money, he'd build my wheels.

I always feel like I am spamming, but when you really like the way you were taken care of it is nice to let others know. Richard at Prowheelbuilder.com has built 3+ sets of wheels for me including a recent SL+ PT set up that is just awesome. I went with the KinLin 30mm like others. I have another set of KinLin 30 Rich built for me so I wanted a matching PT wheel. His web site is great because you can pick and choose your parts, build the wheel, see a final weight (btw, was within a gram or two of my actual recent build) and total cost.
