Is this possible or advisable to do? Will it work with a quality sealant?

It'll work fine with a tube! :)

^ well yeah it will work with a tube,

But it also works tubless if you use sealant, I use stans (i think most others do too) I found when i mounted my non-ust tire to a ust rim with stans, that what works well is to overfill the tire with more air than you want (u'll prolly want a compressor for tubeless) to like 60ish or w/e then swill the stans around so it could fix all the numerous areas around the bead that air leaked from, but it'll stop, you'll prolly have to top off the air after this also. You don't have to but I think its good to let it sit for a few hours b4 riding it, cause mine was def low on air the next day, but now it loses air slower than my tubed wheels

I also read somewhere that the stans can soften non-ust tires on the inside or somthin and make them not last as long, dunno if tis true

Grab some sealant and slap it on. You won't be the first one to do it, I assure you.
