General Cycling Discussion - Which Repair Stand Would You Pick?

Hi, I am looking to get a repair stand, but I need help from you guys.

Here is my options and please tell me what you think:

Park tool pcs-9 repair stand (color blue seems like a toy to me) for $89.99 at Ebay with FREE SHIPPING
Ultimate 2004 BRS-80R Pro Bicyble Repair Stand (black version) for $160 at Ebay (GOOD DEAL)

Does anyone have experience of either one or both? thanks

The consumer level Park stands are okay, and the blue is their official color. I like the Ultimate stands. They work well and fold down to nothing.

The PCS-9 is ok but the better overall stand and deal is the PCS-1. About $125 at Performance and with the 20% coupon, the shipping is not a factor.

I have the Ultimate consumer stand, paid around $130 for it. I think it folds easier than the Parks at this price point which is convenient if you don't have much space for storage. It is well built and is very stable because of the three leg design.

I just got a pcs-9. There is a bit of effort involved when making adjustments. You need to use a hex wrench to adjust the height and to lock the legs to the vertical bar. (Kind of a pain, but I may try to modify it with some parts from some old drum mounting hardware. It had these bolts with a large knob attached to one end that you spin by hand.) It seems like the plastic height adjustment lock could be easily damaged if you tightened it down too hard. You have to crank the bike clamp open and closed, as opposed to just pushing a lever on the more expensive Park stands. It's also kind of hard to judge whether you are cranking it too tight on your bike. But once your bike is in the stand, it holds it there well and the stand is sturdy overall. It does fold up well enough to store in an out-of-the-way place, but because of the tedious adjustments, it would be much easier if you had a space where you could leave it set up all the time.

55/Rod - I searched alot of the articles and people claimed that Park pcs-1 is more stable, but the size of that stand is huge. between the 1 & 9, I would say 9,

however, Ultimate pro is a good fold down stand, I will go for this one, does anyone have the picture with the bike on the stand to show me? thanks
