Does anyone have any experience with the reuseable SRAM 10 speed Powerlock?

Any idea why they didn't have a reuseable 10 spd connecting link in the first place? For example, was it because of engineering or marketing?

I hope it's as easy and handy as their 9 spd Powerlink.

The product description does not match what the mfgr says.
"PowerLOCK" means it is not re-usable.

Neither. It is legal. They are trying to get around the Superlink patent by saying it is not re-usable.
My Park MPL-1 (Master Link Pliers), says it is quite re-usable.

The above referenced website describes the 2008 PowerLock as a one time use link, but clearly describes the 2009 PowerLock as a reuseable link. You'd think SRAM would rename a reuseable PowerLock as PowerLink to convey the reuseable feature. I checked SRAM's website and did not find any mention. I assume I should call/write Pricepoint to verify accuracy of the description.

^ Yes, you should. Or email. I have had such problems with their description accuracies in the past concerning small parts.

so how many out there are disassembling/reassembling their 10 sp PowerLOCK (not PowerLINK) chains? any issues? Obviously you can't remove it like the PowerLINK but otherwise any differences?

Its the MLP-1, sram says it's not reuseable. Going to bet liability on a customers repair on that?

It's totally reusable if you have the Park pliers. No trouble at all.
