Took my usual lunchtime route up San Bruno Mountain with a colleague from work today. Holy moley, that wind was unusually strong even for San Bruno Mountain. On the way up, I was feeling like Clark Kent wearing Kryptonite underpants.

The way down was a whole other story though - I topped out at a shade over 53mph on Guadalupe Canyon, I normally max out at 46-47mph. Although there was no phonebooth at the summit, I did feel that big "S" on my chest as I came down the hill. Then of course there was a huge cross-wind at the bottom that caused me to shout an entirely different "S" word quite loudly.

Anyone else have fun battling our weather today??

I was (coming home from work)...almost got blown off the road several times; had to ride side-way to go straight at certain parts of my commute...and got sand- and gravel-blasted several times...

For the first time ever I was able to spend 90 percent of my time on the drops during my commute home yesterday without being uncomfortable. So I felt more like Mr Fantastic for flexibility without breaking. My speed on the other hand need not be mentioned. ;)

Cripes, it was tough enough just walking the dogs, and the Greyhound is aerodynamic!

Didn't actually ride yesterday, but I've had my fair share of battles with headwinds this year. Nothing quite like riding down a very steep grade, going 3mph because of a headwind. :)
