Hello,
I ordered a Brompton Custom bike and it is currently being built. I look foward to getting it in a few months! I use to own a Brompton S2L-X, but sold it and regreted every day! Anyway, on the new bike I want to replace the pedals with the MKS-EZY ones. Do they fit?
Also, I have been searching for a child seat that I can use with my Brompton to carry my 2 year old son. I cannot find anything about child seats for any small bike! I have seen one front child seat on a Brompton in a Japanese magazine and would like that, but I can't find it anywhere and I don't have the magazine anymore. So, if you know of any info, I would appreciate any info!

They don't take up much space, so always worth hanging on to :)

Like many parts of a Brompton, pedals are standard 9/16" thread, so those pedals will fit just fine. I have a MKS promenade removable pedal on the left crank, as I replaced the Brompton cranks & bottom bracket (also "standard") with shorter cranks but the "Q factor" is higher, so the pedal sticks out more than the original.

The best probably for a 2 year old up, would be:

However, the firm apparently has some financial problems (don't we all?) so may be hard to buy one. Worth checking eBay etc. for second hand ones, as people sell them on when the children are too old for them.

Have a browse of the gallery on that site - maybe it's the seat you saw in the Japanese mag'?

HTH,
John

The ITchair is no longer being produced, mostly because Brompton have been voiding warranties. Until something is sorted out, second-hand is the way to go. There seem to be very few ITchairs sitting in bike shops.

Interesting, thanks.

Is that for cosmetic reasons, paint wearing or some such? Unless the child is exceptionally heavy, it's hard to imagine any problems with it, & every report I've read is positive, with no reported problems.

Wow thanks for the fast answers! That is the exact child seat I saw. I saw it in the magazine about a year ago. If it is discontinued, I guess I will have to see if I can find one second hand.....
I will buy the pedals as soon as the bike arrives. I plan on using it on the Brompton crank for now. Thanks again!

You'd have to ask Brompton for the reason. I've not heard of any problems resulting from the use of an ITchair.
