Mountain - Plains - Anyone listening to KHOW 630 - Peter Boyles - in the mornings?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone listening to KHOW 630 - Peter Boyles - in the mornings (5-9am)?

He has quite a series going on MUPS, reckless bicycle riders, the Sunrise Century, etc., with the emphasis on bicycle/pedestrian negative interactions, especially on the CC Trail from the reservoir to Confluence Park.

Evidently, there is a move for car drivers to block roads in Boulder by having their car "break down" and a lot of resentment against bicyclists rudeness.

Peter used to be a bicycle rider until he got into motorcycles.

I believe this series will be the catalyst for some changes in enforcement practices, and, perhaps rules on the MUPS. He is also fielding a lot of calls about Left Hand Canyon, Rist Canyon, etc., and negative vehicle/bicycle interactions.

There aremany horror stories presented about little old ladies being berated by bicyclists, and similar other stories, etc., etc.

So far, I haven't heard anyone from Bicycle Colorado as a guest, but he has had the mayors of Parker, Aurora and Glendale on, along wiht lots of other folks.

Don't discount Peter Boyles. He has access to almost all the top politicos in the Denver metro area - they might not like him, but they listen to him, and many appear on his show.

Have heard portions of the shows. If this gains momentum the actions of a few will affect us all.

I ride the Platte and Bear Creek. This year there seems to be more lack of courtesy on the Mups by the "Lancelots".

Lancelot and lance wannabees are silly terms BTW.
I ride CCT and the platte for commuting. It is the same as every year.
However, I expect this may be different when the weekend warrior crowds descend upon the MUPs. I prefer to train on the roads and do not notice this.
As for the radio show, I do not listen to the radio and barely watch tv.

The guy, John Turk I think, on 760AM was complaining about cyclists this week as well. They didn't mention any horror stories like the one above (as far as I heard anyway), just the usual complaints about cyclists blowing through stopsigns and red lights.
