Mountain Biking - Bike choice -- Cannondale Jekyll 2000 or Trek 98 Disc?

I am shopping for an all mountain bike. It was a long story, but the short update is that I am down to between a Jekyll 2000 and a Trek 98 Disc...

I have located both bikes (in size that fits me) in the local dealers. I will go test ride them this weekend, and hope to decide which to bring home.

Before I test ride them, any pros and cons of these two bikes you fellows would advise?

The Trek is a faster bike. Its made to have quicker handling and have head angle to climb better. The Jekyll wont climb as well and probably wont feel as quick in the tight stuff but it'll definately handle better downhill and be a bit more comfortable for all day riding

Cannondale has lots of proprietary parts that can be heavy and not well designed, but the Jekyll is supposed to be one of the top Trailbikes in the Biz. Since I'm an XC geek, I would reccomend the Trek, but it all depends on your riding style:

For better downhils and rough riding, get the Jekyll, but for better uphills and faster, smoother riding get the Trek.
