Pacific Northwest - Inquiry on safest route from Spokane to Sandpoint ???

Hello - Not being familar with your beautiful part (the Pacific Northwest) of our country, could you please advise me of the lowest traffic/safest route from Spokane (will be leaving from REI downtown) to Sandpoint?
I will be mounting up after 'morning weekday traffic.'

The main Hiways 2 and 200 are not too bad but busy. These back roads are quiet. bring your dog spray. The loop in Newport is not necessary the toaster just won't go against the one way. This route goes around the business district in Deer Park but it's just a few blocks away for a meal.

Yeah, I would say that is an excellent route. Once you get out of north Spokane County, the roads are very quiet until you hit SR 95 just south of Sandpoint. Have a great trip.
