I have just about 700 miles on my Ksyrium SSC SL wheels. The rear has developed a click. Sounds like there is something in the tire hitting the road on each revolution, but there isn't. And, to make the problem even more mysterious, it only seems to do it when I am riding, no sound when it is on the stand. Any thoughts?

Check the tension on the spokes...

Yea, if it is dependednt on your weight being there, spoke tension is suspect.

Also, with Ksyriums, check the hub. It may be loose.

No little bits of glass or rick in your tire tread?

it's the quick releases.

this has been pretty well documented and happened to me, as well as many other riders here. do some searching in the bike mechanics forum.

to solve it, remove the quick releases, grease up all moving and threaded parts as well as the insides and outsides of the frame and fork dropouts where the hubs contact the bike.

secure the QRs and make sure they're tight before every ride. this should solve your problem.

My first set did it, but only when I was out of the saddle. I did all the lube "fixes" to no avail. I'm not absolutely sure it was the wheels. My second bike with SLs hasn't done it (yet).

The clicking on mine was the hub (was the front hub). There is a disc on the front and rear hub (to the outside of the hub). You can turn it, to tighten or loosen the hub. Mine were clicking, so I tightend them up, and no more click.

If you're using long valve stems, they can sometimes "click" against the opening in the rim. It's only happened to me with 60mm stem tubes that have a smooth stem rather than one with threads all the way down. If you pull the tube out and put one layer of electrical tape around the stem, it should go away if that's your problem.

My front wheel was doing it when i was out of the saddle, I tightened up the front QR a little more and it stopped.
