Introductions - hello from southern cali

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm Chris, currently living in Irvine, California. I've been in CA for a few years (first in the san fernando valley, and for the past year, Irvine). And I've been biking to school (my senior year of high school, as well as most of college), and work since I got to the west coast.
I've had several cheap bikes since high school (one of the better ones was finally retired last december, a friend of mine gave it to me for $20, and it lasted me almost 3 years with a 6-20 mile commute daily, and it was well used. Someone jumped a curb and hit the bike that was locked to a bike rack :( ), and have just recently replaced a really cheap bike with a trek 820, which so far has been a worthwhile investment. I ride between 50-100 miles a week, mostly to work and school, and I just love it!
I work with dogs, specifically small breeds, so I'm chasing, playing with, and cleaning up after them all day. I work 6-12 hours a day on my feet, and I've found my early morning rides to work wake me up quicker and I almost never feel sluggish during work. As exhausting as this gets, I'm one of the few people who can say I love my job
Between my job and my rides, I'm loving life even though I'm perpetually broke :thumb:

Where are the photos?
Not only do we love bikes, but some of us like Schnauzers, too.

The schnauzer herder thing was a joke from my sister: She sings the 'mini sirloin burger" song a lot and walked into work when we had a lot of schnauzers (including a pair of Giant Schnauzers), and sang:
"Herding Schnauzers the size of cattle, but their schnauzers!"
that was probably more information than you guys really needed...
But sadly, all the schnauzers that come to work haven't been in a while :( I'll get you some pics once their parents bring them in...
in the mean time: have some pics of a bike, and some other dog breeds! (there's my little corgi/lab mix, a french bulldog puppy, and a pug)

French BullDogs are the CUTEST puppies! Makes me giggle. And it's feet look like piggie feet. TOO CUTE! The pug looks like it needs some exercise :)

Yea, he's a fairly hefty dog... he's even big for a pug.
anyways: have some more... (it's been a slow night for me, and i have nothing better to do - also, I am out of pictures of the dogs i work with)

I've got a flickr guy for you to check out. He too works with dogs and I've loved his dog pics for years. This is one of my faves http://www.flickr.com/photos/fenbranklin/359937848/in/set-1550102/
I'm a dog person who had the same cat for 19.5 years. I had a couple dogs during that time but since high school, I'm 36, I've only had cats.
Meet Chester. He's like a dog the way he lays when asked, talks, follows :)

I've had a few dogs: Jazz (my current dog, first picture i posted, before the bikes), is a corgi mixed with a yellow lab. Before her we had a few dogs that thought they were cats... most notably my mother's dog Timmy (a little yorkie). He'd get onto window sills, sleep on the back of the sofa, i swear he even purred.
