Does anyone know offhand of any places that lets you rent a bike overnight? Reason is I would need it really early in the morning and the bike places aren't open that early. Do you also know the average cost? Thanks.

I don't know the costs offhand - I am sure someone here can point you to a shop (probably shops near Central or Prospect Park, for sure), but i am guessing you would simply need to pay for two days' rental. In Portland OR and NC we rented basic MTBs for about $40/day. Both shops gave us maps and helmets - in Portland we also got decent locks to use!

Also what type of bike are you looking for. There are lots of places to rent hybrid, mountain or comfort bikes. Road bikes get a lot pricier. I often walk by Toga's west side location and they have a rack of what looks like rental stock out front.

I think Chelsea Bicycles on 26th rents. Good luck on the early AM thing. ;)
