Anyone?

If not, are there any new 27 inch rims available? Who has good quality?

Velocity Dyad

I don't think those come in 27s... at least not now. Maybe they did before? The Sun CR-18 is pretty much the nicest rim that I know of that still comes in 27 inch. Too bad they just discontinued the polished finish last year. :( Weinmann LP-18s are also available, and look decent. They are narrower than the Sun.

Did they? I am glad I bought a spare pair of polished CR-18s last year.

I sure hope the market's move away from polished aluminum parts rebounds soon... I would love to see a return of polished aluminum rims, seat posts, cranks, stems etc as the norm (or at least a common option).

Per their web site Velocity does the Dyad, Synergy and Twin Hollow rims in 630 or 27" size.

You're right, it seems I didn't understand what I was reading on their website. You can't just click on the model, you have to click on the wheel size as well.

They claim to make them, but just try to find any for sale... I just tried Google... there are some old references to Dyads in 27", and a reference to a special run of 48 hole Dyads in 27" for tandems, but not much else, and the even less for Synergy. There is an Australian source for the Twin Hollow...

I'll put a vote in for the Twin Hollow. Granted, they are single-wall, but unbelievably well made, nicely finished, and understated with a distinct C&V appearance.

You can still find them polished in some places, but 3 shops (that I trust) told me they are not made any more in that format as of last summer. One of these shops regularly sells wheels built up on those rims, so they definitely would know what they can order or or not.

VO has a pile of polished 700C rims in stock still.

Cheers,
Karl
