I just recently had a manitou minute tpc put on my bike with avid bb7 brakes and some 20mm thru axle wheels. There is a problem with the front brake rotor not getting enough clearance over the 20mm hub. so whenever the front wheel is on the screws from the rotor are rubbing against the inside of the fork. I took it to a shop and the guy informed me that I would have to get a new wheel with a center locking disc hub.

Question: Is there anything I can do outside of buying a new hub/wheel that will allow this combination to work?

Can you post a close up pic of the screw heads hitting the inside of the fork leg? I'd like to see how much the overlap is...

You can have a look at other "brake brand" mushroom-head screws (allen-drive) with a lower profile than the standard Avid screws (star-drive) if the overlap isn't too much... or get stainless ones from an engineering shop or marine chandlery and machine them down a bit. I can't remember if they're 5mm or 6mm metric.

Use Lock-tite on bolts that don't have that colored friction stuff painted onto the threads.

Or get the lowest-profile button-head (or pan head) Allen bolts you can find:

Dude you really need to rethink what you are doing. Why waste all that money on a Giant Rincon? I would only consider customizing a bike worth more than $1500. Just save your money and buy a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Carbon like me ; )
