hey guys

i smacked my bike on its side really hard the other day fallin off a rail and now theres like this muffled clicking noise when im pedaling or i stan on the back pegs while im movin im not sure exactly where its coming from but its somewhere in the back ( like maybe the crank ok the back wheel or pegs are gettin loose or somthing and i dont know what to do have any of u guys ever had that happen and what did u to to fix it

i'd really like to know wtf the noise is cuz driven me crazy please reply if u have and suggestions

Odds are its not a pedal like that other dude said...and if ure not really sure where its comin from its hard to say but its prob u cracked ure axle or broke your bearing casing on the back hub near the back sprocket..pedals dont normally if ever make a cracking noise...also check the back axel for broken or bent teeth

no its not really like a defined cracking its like a poping but muffled its really hard to explain i do think its somthing inside the crank case cuz it ususally does it when i pedal or i and coasting really fast

Hard to say. Which part of the bike got slammed? There could potentially be alot of things. Such as a broken retainer in the bottom bracket. This would lead to the bearings fallng out and quite possibly getting ground up. It could be a bent or broken axle, but you could check that by moving the wheels side to side to see if there is any sloppy movement in them, and they do not roll true. You man have bent your chain. You may have damaged the headset, or cracked the frame somewhere. Look for chipped paint at the welds for that. You could have knocked a wheel out of true that is rubbing the stays on the frame or hitting the brakes at a weird angle. You also could have damaged the races on the hubs itself if the pegs slammed hard enough to flex, bend, or break the axle and the bearings in the hubs are getting chewed up. Just do a check, and if you cannot find anything, then go to your LBS and have them check it.

Dude you like broke stuff. Check for loose things or broken nd bent stuff and fix it.

ok ill try to do this in order it slammed like right on the side just like flat no one part took and extra amount of beating; i dont think any bearings are falling out becuse everything is smooth still it just makes that noise and everything spins fine; yes there is a little bit of slop in the back tire ( it moves side to side a little bit ) but its nothing really noticibale and they still ride straight ; no chiped paint at the welds ; it isnt the wheel rubbing i can tell ya that ;

Well then given what you said, nothing mechanical seems to be wrong. Check and see if anything is bent, I mean ANYTHING. If not then you are good to go.

ok i took the whole back assembly apart (axle bearings everything in the back wheel) and cleaned it, everything looked fine all my bearings were there my axle was straight so there was nothing wrong back there so its narrowed down to the crank and anything in there any ideas??

man i aint wastin my $ cuz da bike shop guys a ****head and he'll charge me like 50.00 to even tell me whats wrong plus i have all the tools i need

my guess is probably the bottom bracket bearings....
