Hey guys - I've been riding in Houston for a while (northeast) and I just got the good news that I'm moving to Lake Travis. I'm unemployed - lost my job a few months ago - but my wife got a position teaching at Lake Travis High School. I've been eager to move to the Austin area for a long time as I went to college there and love it.

How is the cycling in Lake Travis? What should I know? All I really know is that it is hilly and supposedly pretty, I have never been to this part of Austin.

plenty of good riding in the area. traffic can be a bit heavy, and you'll spend a lot of time on the shoulders of busy highways, but drivers are generally used to seeing riders in that area. and, you're far enough West that you can get out to the small roads and enjoy some great riding.
