I suspect that traffic will be a disaster, especially on the freeways and bridges. At least, this is the picture that is painted by the media.
I suspect that buses will also be packed.
If it happens, I think I will take the ferry from Jack London to SF. I do it once in a while now for fun and a break. It is almost empty when it leaves Oakland most days (it fills up at the Alameda stop).
Those of you lucky enough to be able to commute by bike will probably be fine. Car drivers and BART riders could be greatly inconvenienced. I suspect that many employers would let workers come in early or late to alleviate the usual "rush hour" crunch.
