Ive had an ongoing annoyance that I really am ready to get rid of. The hayes hydraulics on my Heckler came with 8" rotors. I noticed that my 8" rotors (Hayes) were not the typical size on many of my buddies bikes. I also noticed that not many of the people I ride with have a problem with their rotors singing(rubbing). This has been a problem since new. I have been able to minimize it slightly but not completely get rid of it. Ive done everything from compressing the pistons with the wheel off, to having them professionally tuned, trued and torqued at CBO, and finally adjusting the caliper mount. Even with the rotor positioned perfectly. The 8" monsters just have too much room for imperfection I believe. What is the solution to converting this thing over to 6" rotors and should I do it. Also, what rotors are known for quality? Thanks.
